The town of Bad Bramstedt is a recognized health resort with a focus on rheumatic diseases and pain therapy. The town has been recognized as a mud spa since 1910. A total of almost 14,400 inhabitants live in the Rolandstadt.
The townscape is characterized by various restaurants and hotels, which illustrate the importance of tourism. The main shopping street "Bleek" is a traffic-calmed area due to the construction of the new bypass and is an inviting place to shop.
Bad Bramstedt is conveniently located on the axis between Hamburg (approx. 40 km) and Neumünster (approx. 25 km) with access to the A7 federal highway. The town is a sub-center in a rural area. In addition to the municipal administration, the town is also home to the Bad Bramstedt-Land district administration and the headquarters of the Holsteiner Auenland active region. The regional federal police headquarters, responsible for the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, is also located here.
