Gelting Bay, the outer part of the Flensburg Fjord, is a wonderful sailing and water sports area. The Geltinger Birk nature reserve is in the immediate vicinity. Kappeln and Flensburg can be reached in less than 30 minutes by car, and the Danish border is right on the doorstep. Gelting has developed as a tourist destination in recent years.
