Wehr is located directly at the foothills of the southern Black Forest and the Wehra flows into the Rhine, which forms the border with Switzerland, just a few kilometers to the south. This makes it an ideal starting point for many day trips/hiking and cycling excursions.
Public transport buses run to Schopfheim, Todtmoos and Bad Säckingen. The bus line to Bad Säckingen stops in Öflingen and at Wehr-Brennet station. From there, trains run in the direction of Rheinfelden - Basel Bad, as well as to Waldshut Tiengen-Lauchringen.
