Wiemelhausen stretches from the city center of Bochum to the popular residential area of Stiepel. It is one of the most attractive residential areas of Bochum. Wiemelhausen is quite varied and thus offers everything from quiet side streets to lively city proximity, but in an upscale standard. In the urban-lively part you can also find the Schauspielhaus and other public institutions. The Bochum Music Center is the concert hall for the Bochum Symphony Orchestra; it also has a hall for the Municipal Music School. The site of the former Prinz Regent colliery is now used for a variety of purposes: in addition to new commerce, there is the Prinz Regent Theater and a discotheque. Transportation: Oviedo-Ring in the district, subway U35 direction Querenburg, Stadtmitte and Herne, train station Ehrenfeld S1 direction Düsseldorf and Dortmund. Streetcars in the direction of Dahlhausen/Hattingen and City/Gerthe. Numerous bus lines go to the center and other parts of the city.
