South Quarter
Located directly south of the city center, the Südviertel is Essen's office and cultural center and also a popular residential area. Culturally and architecturally interesting is the Aalto Theater, which houses the Essen Opera. Further south is the Ruhrland Museum and the Museum Folkwang. As a residential area, the eastern part of the district is particularly popular. A 40 and A 52 are reachable within a few minutes, the city center partly on foot, several streetcars go to other parts of the city.
