The Lower Saxony Housing Promotion Act (NWoFG) promotes the creation and maintenance of affordable housing in Lower Saxony, including Wildeshausen. Apartments that are built or modernized in accordance with the provisions of this law are generally characterized by the following features:
Affordable housing: rents for subsidized housing will be below the market level for a long-term period in order to give lower-income households access to affordable housing.
Occupancy commitment: Apartments that are built with subsidized funds are subject to an occupancy commitment. This means that they may only be rented to people or households who do not exceed certain income limits. The exact income limits are based on the level of household income.
Social housing: Some of the subsidized apartments fall into the area of social housing. These apartments are intended for low-income households and are subject to special rent regulations.
Target groups: Our apartments are particularly aimed at small families with children, single parents, singles, senior citizens and people on low incomes who find it difficult to find suitable housing on the open housing market.
In Wildeshausen, as in many other towns in Lower Saxony, subsidized housing plays an important role in meeting the growing demand for affordable housing and promoting social justice.
